Château de Pommard releases its first biodynamic vintage.

Château de Pommard releases its first biodynamic vintage, 2021, with limited stocks.

Château de Pommard and Famille Carabello-Baum are thrilled to announce the release of six cuvées, all certified biodynamic and organic, from its famous Clos Marey-Monge vineyard. The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was the result of difficult growing conditions, making this a potentially very sought-after year due to scarcity.

Since 2016, the family has adopted sustainable practices in its 20-hectare privately-owned vineyard and winery. The first vintage certified organic was the year 2019, released to the market in 2021. The domaine was certified by Agriculture Biologique who are accredited by the INAO (National Institute of Origin and Quality).

This year, Château de Pommard is unveiling five distinct cuvées from neighboring plots within the same vineyard, as well as its signature blend and true work of art, Clos Marey-Monge Monopole, all certified biodynamic by world-renowned certifier Demeter.

The family is hosting an International Clos Marey-Monge Day on July 20, 2023 to celebrate this outstanding achievement. Wherever they are in the world, the Château's clients and team members are invited to raise a glass to this singular vineyard, a geological marvel protected by a 2-meter high wall and producing expressive and energetic Pinot Noirs. Virtual Zoom tasting sessions will be led throughout the day by the new generation of the Château's winemaking team, Paul Negrerie, Winemaker, and Jean-Rémi Fray, Vineyard Manager.

Throughout the summer, the family will release three and six-bottle wine collections dedicated to the Clos Marey-Monge and offered at special prices, allowing everyone to taste various vintages and expressions of this unique Burgundy terroir. The 2021 Clos Marey-Monge vintage will be available on a pre-sale for the Château's VIP clients throughout July. Those not part of the VIP program can join a waitlist to access any unsold references when the official 2021 vintage sale starts on August 1st. Prices for these wines range from $88 for Émilie 2021 to $210 for Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2021.

And if you plan to visit Burgundy soon, Château de Pommard holds fascinating tasting experiences for every wine lover, so don't forget to reserve yours!
