Neil Beckett reviews our Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2015

Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2015

Score: 92 / 100

Every November, Neil Beckett, editor of the internationally acclaimed award-winning wine magazine, The World of Fine Wine, knocks on the door of Clos Marey-Monge. He seeks only fine wine and fine company and we endeavour to do our best for both.

Every time we invite Neil to the vineyard for a tasting or two, Emmanuel always ensures that he is available. Indeed, he is always keen to see what Mr Beckett thinks of his new vintage. For Emmanuel, this is a true first test of his wine’s potential.

Old Friends: Neil Beckett is invited every November to Clos Marey-Monge

This time around, Neil and Emmanuel sampled Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2015 downstairs in the cellar. As is customary, Neil kept his thoughts and feelings tight-lipped until he publishes his review ; which he did in April 2017.

Once again, we say a massive thank you to Neil, and Emmanuel (of course!), for delivering another great wine review, and vintage, that makes lots of people happy. To have such a trusted source such as Neil swirl, sip and savor the fruits of Clos Marey-Monge Monopole, is always helpful to ensure our wines are reviewed and rated by top professionals who can give us their expert opinions. We take each review very seriously.

Neil’s fantastic review of Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2015 is below in full:

“Another impressive wine from this much-improved property, carefully blended from the rich tapestry of terroirs by cellar-master Emmanuel Sala. Intense mid-ruby, natural luster. A little oak reduction, initially on the nose, which cleared to reveal complex and intriguing scents: clean earth, dark fruit, summer pudding, graphite, and pepper. A gorgeous quality of tannin, flowing and supple, but plenty of support underneath. Effortlessly expansive, deep foundations but it soars too. A bright long flourishing finish. Great potential.”
Neil Beckett, World of Fine Wine

Neil, we look forward to seeing you again in November 2017!
