This WSET Level 2 Award in Wines in evening courses takes place over 6 evenings over the course of 2 weeks. It is intended to accommodate participants with busy lifestyles who cannot be available during the day. You will discover the main wine regions around the world and their grape varieties. After this program, you will have a strong knowledge base to start a career in the wine industry. You will taste 50 wines from some of the most renowned organic and biodynamic vineyards around the world, including 4 wines from Château de Pommard.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is designed for those who already have some basic knowledge of wine and wish to acquire a solid foundation in wine tasting and reinforce their understanding of wine styles around the world. It is suitable for wine lovers and those who wish to start a career in wine.

  • At the end of your training, you will be able to recognize the different styles of wine produced from these grape varieties, read labels and understand the principles of food and wine pairings.

How do WSET Level 2 classes work?

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines consists of 30 hours of study, including 18 hours of training delivered by one of our WSET-certified educators. The program takes place over 6 evenings over the course of 2 weeks, with classes from 7 pm to 10 pm, including study time and the exam.

During each session with your WSET-certified educator, the class will use presentations, discussions and tastings to tackle the key points presented in the teaching material. You will receive a textbook and study guide prior to the course and should study these materials before the session. During the course, you will taste 50 wines from the main wine-producing regions of France, Europe and the New World.

Sessions are limited to 14 students.

The teaching tools and methods

Once your registration for a session is validated, you'll receive your course material, containing a textbook, study guide, self-assessment exercises, and summary sheet of the Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine®. During your course, you will be led by a WSET-certified educator using interactive and engaging teaching methods. The program includes presentations, discussions and visual aids, as well as guided tastings and self-assessment exercises.

Evaluation And Certification

A one-hour final exam will take place during the last course from 9 pm to 10 pm. To obtain your certification, you will have to correctly answer 55% of the 50 multiple-choice questions. You will receive your result by email about 8 weeks after your exam date. Your certificate and pin will then be mailed to you. The success rate of our students in this exam is 97%. You can retake the exam if you do not pass for a fee of 80 euros.

What are the requirements to enter the course?

This course is intended for anyone over 18 years old. Nonetheless, it is recommended that students have some prior wine knowledge (You can review sample questions for the WSET Level 2 exam in the Specifications). Sessions are offered exclusively in Paris, both in French and in English. Registrations close 17 days prior to the start date of the session or when maximum capacity is reached.

How to prepare for your WSET Level 2 Award in Wines?

Preparation for the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines requires at least 12 hours of advance study. You need to read the textbook and go through the practice questions in the Study Guide prior to the start of the training. It is important to keep in mind the delivery time of your teaching material (sent within 3 business days after registration) and the required study time when registering for a session.
