2021 MUNDUS VINI Summer Tasting

The 29th edition MUNDUS VINI took place in late August 2021 in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany. The competition includes two tastings each year, one in the Spring and one in Summer. The Summer tasting included more than 4,500 wines from 35 different wine-growing countries. These wines were blind-tasted by the world's most famous wine professionals: expert sommeliers, œnologists, wine critics, and major retailers.

"We and especially our expert jury, consisting of 30 different nationalities, were very pleased that the Summer Tasting could take place again in an almost normal way. For more than 20 years, MUNDUS VINI has stood for a reliable, neutral, and honest evaluation of wines from all over the world. The feedback from our tasters as well as from wineries, traders, and wine connoisseurs shows us that something unique has been created here," commented Tasting Director Christian Wolf.

In total, 1,818 wines received a distinction (no more than 40% of all the wines presented during the competition): 36 were awarded a Grand Gold medal, 971 received the Gold medal, and 811 obtained the Silver medal.
