Behind its pale lemon color, this Santenay Premier Cru “La Maladière” hides medium intensity aromas of lemon, apple, and pear, as well as notes of honeysuckle. With refreshing acidity, the palate reveals flavors of white fruits, lime and subtle hints of vanilla. Chiseled and lively, it is a Chardonnay enjoyable now.
Located above the village of Santenay, our Premier Cru “La Maladière” combines a marly-clay and limestone-rich soil that produces a mineral and lively Chardonnay. Lying at the southern extremity of the Côte de Beaune, the appellation was created in 1937. Renowned for its intense red wines across the world, Santenay also produces a handful of chiseled white wines like our “La Maladière”.
