US wine wizards, Vinepair, put our 95 scoring wine in their TOP 50!

For some years now, New York-based drink experts Vinepair have been delivering inspiring content about drinks culture and highlighting the latest trends in wine, beer, and spirits. And so with that pedigree, we are extremely excited to connect with them.

We sent a little package of wines across the pond in September and they've come back with some great scores, notably a corking 95 for our Grands Esprits 2017! And now this cuvée has made it into their 50 Best Wines of 2023 at number 27.

Keith Beavers is the reassuring voice of the Vinepair podcast, which is a genuinely great way to learn about wine without any pressure of snobbery, so we were delighted to discover that it was indeed he who had tasted and reviewed our wine.

Here's what the man himself had to say:

"Château de Pommard is located in the heart of Burgundy's Côte d'Or and is one of the oldest wine estates in the region. They witnessed the emergence of Pinot Noir and today they are a force in Burgundy with a great lineup of wines. This Clos Marey-Monge Grands Esprits is a beautiful example of their skill and centuries of experience. The nose is earth wrapped up in cherry and cinnamon with the slightest hint of oak. There are some fresh hints of rhubarb and a dose of soy. The palate is balanced between tart and fleshy fruit flavors."
